On and off for my whole career, but most significantly in the last 15 years
Why are you vested in the District?
Conservation of soil, forests, and fields is critical to all other economies in Coös.

AAS in Forest Technology, BS in Forest Biology/Resource Management, MEd in K-12 Education

Intimate knowledge of how forest ecosystems grow and respond in northern New England, and the restoration of forest ecosystems.

What are you currently up to?
Forest management planning and implementation of conservation practices for private landowners.
What do you bring to the District?
Experience in the field of forestry
What do you think is the future of conservation in our county and in our state?
It’s up to us! Coös is capable of growing very valuable forest products while maintaining critical ecosystems. Much work is to be done to restore that productivity.

How long have you been in Coos County?
My whole life.
What do you enjoy most about Coos County?
I enjoy that over my lifetime it has stayed a rural area that has been great to farm on.
How long have you been involved with the District?
About ten or so years.
Why are you vested in the District?
I enjoy being able to provide the people of this county with equipment and opportunities to keep the county a rural and agricultural area.

Associate’s degree in Applied Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire.
What is your area of expertise?
My area of expertise is soil and crop work with a focus on how it applies to dairy farming.
Employment background? Volunteer work?
I have always been a dairy farmer working on my own farm as well as others along the way. I have also served on Columbia’s planning board and the county Farm Service Agency Committee for three terms. Currently, I am serving as President of the New Hampshire Holstein Club, am a part of the town and county Zoning Board Adjustment, and the State Conservation Commission.
What are you currently up to?
Dairy farming.
What do you bring to the District?
I bring knowledge of equipment, soils, and crop work from my many years of experience as well as hoping to plan for the future of agriculture.
What do you think is the future of conservation in our county and in our state?
I think the future holds the hope to maintain this great area for generations to come to be able to continue working in agriculture as well as conserving the rural aesthetic of the area.
